For our last day in Malaysia, we decide to take another trip at the amazing Petronas Twin Towers so we could see them during the daytime. We are just obsessed with this tower! So again, we boarded the Kalana Jaya Line towards the Gombak direction, and got off the KLCC station, which was just 5 stations away. Very easy! In less than 30 minutes, we finally got to see the famous towers in broad daylight! We went to the other side of the towers, not the side where Suria KLCC was. But the view is just still so very pretty!
After the amazing morning with the towers, we headed back to the hotel to check-out. Again, take the Kelana Jaya Line, this time towards the KL Sentral direction, and get off there. We bought some fast breakfast at the station, we were able to find this coffee shop called Old Town, which is famous all around KL, and it is because their coffee is just amazing! We also had some sandwiches from the Subway we saw, it was also very nice. Anyway, this is the first time we were able to ride KL's train that wasn't night time so we were able to see clearly the views from the train. There were a lot of construction going on, but still, KL is a beautiful city. Not as clean as Singapore, but still cleaner than Manila hahaha. What was distinct about the city was that there were a lot of trees and parks in the middle of the highway, so that was a really nice thing to see.
Checking out was very easy, there were no additional charges. Which was such a good luck, because, I forgot to write about this, remember the very cheap wall adapter I bought at Central Market? So we left J's phone plugged into thatat adapter, and in the middle of the night last night, I was suddenly woken up by a very loud boom, and at the corner of my eye I saw a spark and a flash of light at the wall where the phone was plugged in. And then, I suddenly realised that there was no power in our room. Apparently, the cheap wall adapter exploded and affected our whole room! So we called up the front desk, unfortunately, the engineer in charge was a long way from the hotel so it took about 3-4 hours before he arrived. Imagine our fear and our hardship trying to talk in english with all the staffs there hahaha. So I really thought they were going to charge us for that, but luckily, they didn't. Or maybe they forgot about it? Owell who knows! So that was our adventure that happened at our last night in KL hahaha.
After checking out, we brought a few supplies at the convenience store in front of the hotel. I bought a new wall adapter, not cheap this time. So for our ride going to KLIA, we decided to try out the bus. The bus station is located under the KL Sentral, so after crossing towards the mall, go down and go towards the basement. There are, I think, 2 different bus stations there. We chose the Sky Bus line and it costs RM11 (125php) per person, so it was way cheaper then the train to KLIA. It took around 1 1/2 hour to arrive at the airport, but the bus was comfortable, the seats were a bit soft, so you could sleep all the way to the airport.
The flight we purchased was via Air Asia, and the time of departure was 12:40pm. We were able to check-in online so we weren't in a hurry so much. We explored the airport slightly, or well, we were lost that's why we were able to explore haha. Another hurdle was that our luggage which we were supposed to check-in exceeded the weight limit so we had to open up our bags in the airport and tried to lessen the weight of our luggages, and in doing so, our carry-on became heavier. So, a word of advise, double check your luggages weight before going to the airport. The KLIA is huge, and very clean. There are a lot of stores all around, it's kind of like a mall. There are also signs everywhere, so it would be easy for you to find your way. Immigration went through like a breeze, and inside, there are also a lot of stores, there's also duty free. And a variety of stores selling foods. We bought a McDonalds so we could eat something before boarding. Anyway, our plane arrived on time and then we're off to Singapore!
So that ends our trip to Kuala Lumpur. KL is quite similar to Manila, it has places which are very clean, but there are also areas which looks a bit shady and a bit dirty. But overall, the place is still beautiful. The roads are very smooth, there are so many high buildings which was really pretty. Transportation was a breeze, the train lines passes through a lot of tourist spots, and they're also a cheap way to get around KL. The people are nice, although, some of them didn't know how to speak English so it was a bit hard to ask for directions. There were also a lot of Indians working in stores all over the place. But, still the people are nice, it felt like a safe place. We really enjoyed exploring KL, and would probably go back to Malaysia to explore other areas.
